All students, faculty, and staff are invited to join the College of
Agriculture and Life Sciences as we partner with the Texas A&M Law
Review to host a free simulcast of
Farm to Table: Agriculture Law in the Era of Sustainability.
The simulcast will be held on Friday, October 30 in the Agriculture and
Life Sciences Building, Room 129 from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Attendees are
welcome to come and go; please see below for the schedule of events.
Featuring keynote speakers Dr. Mark Hussey of Texas A&M
University and Professor James Chen of Michigan State University, the
Symposium will facilitate scholarly discussion regarding the current
legal framework for agriculture in the context of emerging
sustainability issues (specifically related to water, infrastructure,
crop development, and livestock).
The event’s theme is in keeping with Texas A&M’s institutional commitment to find solutions that:
- feed our world,
- protect our environment,
- improve our health, and
- grow the economy.
An expected outcome of the Symposium is to generate thoughtful policy
discussion, and in time, proposals that favorably impact the current
framework of agriculture law.
