Horticulture Internships in NW OREGON:

Carlton Plants is a wholesale grower specializing in bareroot trees (shade, ornamental, and fruit), ornamental shrubs, and rootstocks.  We are pleased to announce our Internship Program for Spring & Summer 2013.  The program is designed to provide professional education and hands on experience to college students.  This is paid, on the job training that includes exposure to all phases of bareroot production - from the tissue culture lab or greenhouse to the field and eventually to the customer.  Additionally, specialized internships in Propagation are available.

Northwest Oregon is a wonderful place to spend a few months and provides a unique opportunity to apply the knowledge gleaned from the classroom. Weekends may be used to enjoy the fabulous recreational activities throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Carlton Plants has been growing in the Willamette Valley of Oregon for over 100 years.  The nursery now consists of over 1,750 acres of bareroot fields and approximately 8 acres of propagation facilities.  We are excited at the prospect of sharing our many years of experience and knowledge with domestic and international students alike.  These internships will be most applicable to students in Horticulture, Botany, Plant Pathology, Crop and Soil Science, and Agriculture Education majors.

Deadline to apply for spring 2013 is November 15, 2012; for summer 2013 the deadline is January 15, 2013.
