From Dr. Betsy Pierson:
I
would like to invite all students and faculty to participate in the
Poster Competition at the Texas Plant Protection Conference December 10 and 11, 2013 in
the Brazos Center on Briarcrest in Bryan. This is the 25th
Anniversary of the Conference with a mission of serving as a forum for
communication and exchange of ideas among
agribusinesses, regulatory agencies, research agencies and education
services. This year the organizing association has sought out more
active participation by our Department of Horticultural Sciences.
Specifically, they would like to see our posters featured
at the conference. There are cash awards for the top posters!
Details: Abstracts are due November 1. Instructions are attached. Posters would need to go up the morning
of December 10 and come down late afternoon December 11. You do NOT need to be present to win (and if you have classes at that time—someone else can put your poster up for you).
It is a great way for local businesses and regulatory agencies and
others in AgriLife to see what you do. So for those of you who have
posters already or are planning to make one for the Department poster
competition, consider also submitting an Abstract to the Texas Plant
Protection Conference. What a great way to win a little
extra cash for the holidays and represent our Department at this
conference!!!
If you need any additional information please feel free to contact Dr. Pierson
