Germany Sustainable Communities Study Abroad Program:

For the last 6 years, the Dept. of LAUP has been conducting a Study Abroad program in Bonn, Germany which is open to ALL MAJORS UNDERGRADUTE and GRADUATE.  The course is a 5 week series of excursions and guided tours which explore the strategies for sustainable development in German communities. While the host city is Bonn, we will visit many more surrounding cities.  Sustainable energies, agriculture, ecological habitat reclamation, water quality, and historic integrity are all covered through a series of guided tours.  Each student enrolled in the program will be housed by a host family. Guided tours will take place Mon-Thurs along with classes with Fri-Sunday open for free travel.  Bonn is situated within a 2 hour train ride to most major surrounding cities (Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna) which affords the opportunity to visit many other places.
