IMPORTANT-
PLEASE READ: As many of you know, Katie Marek will be out on maternity
leave beginning the end of April. Debbie Perez, the HORT
graduate advisor, will be assisting with advising questions in Katie’s
absence and Marissa Faris, the experiential learning coordinator, will
be assisting with internship/job related questions. We
are
being proactive to assist with many of your graduation, advising and
pre-registration questions prior to Katie’s maternity leave. Please
read below for timely updates that may pertain to you.
Are you planning to Graduate in August 2013, December 2013, or May 2014?
If so, stop by HFSB
205 and put your name on the list to ensure we know your intended
plans. This will allow Katie and Debbie to make sure your file is up to
date. If you have previously indicated your plans, please stop by at
your earliest convenience to ensure we have one
comprehensive list.
Preregistration Advising Appointments. This
week, you can still make AM and PM appointments.
After this week, appointments will only be available during the 9:30
a.m. – 12:00 p.m. timeframe and WALK-IN advising hours will be 1:30 p.m.
– 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday occurring on the half hour. If you would like
to discuss your summer/fall 2013 courses, you
can stop by HFSB 204 to schedule a morning appointment or come in during
walk-in hours next week. Preregistration advising appointments will not be taken via email.
You must stop by HFSB 204 to find an available appointment time. 8:00
a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
and 4:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m. timeframes are reserved to address email
correspondence and ongoing departmental projects and responsibilities.
Summer/Fall 2013 Preregistration. Begins April 11, 2013 at 5 a.m. through April 26, 2013.

for the complete preregistration and open registration schedule.
Summer/Fall 2013 Schedule of Classes. The course schedule for summer/fall 2013 can be found
in Howdy by searching “Summer 2013—College Station” or “Fall 2013—College Station”.
Force Requests.
As in past semesters, the HORT academic advisors can only consider
requests
for HORT specific courses. You must talk to the home department for the
course if you need a force request other than HORT. Force Requests will
NOT be taken via email. You must stop by HFSB 204 to complete a force
request form. You will need the specific
course and section information. Fall force requests will be considered
during open registration the week of July 29th and handled on a first come, first serve basis, unless noted elsewhere. Summer force requests will be considered
the week of April 29th.
HORT Course Specifics. See
attached for HORT specific course/force requests. If you come
prepared for your advising meeting with your specific HORT course
requests, you could be given permission to register during your assigned
preregistration timeslot. Otherwise, you will need to stop by HFSB 204
to complete a force request.
